(I’m Completely new to Davo and mainly use Discord)

Hey, just wanna get some help with the Spore Mod API because some mods do work (Since they don’t need the API) unfortunately for some ; Dark Injection and etc. ; do not work. Mainly I’ll ask about Dark Injection. It asks for me to open Dark Injection through the Spore mod API Launcher and did so. Upon clicking, it will open an error telling me that msvcp140-dll is missing and so as vcruntime140.dll popping up the error twice then opening an error with the code. Then normally opening Galactic Adventures.

Do I just fix it by re installation (Of the dll files), because we did and its still missing? Or do I need to do something else.

Windows 7, x64 bit

Hello! I’m a new user of this forum and I need help with the API launcher.
So, I wanted to reinstall Spore. I have all the DLC’s and I wanted to download darkinjection and some other mods. Unfortunately I wasn’t prepared for the new launcher, and I was abitued with the old one. Still, I follow the instructions and I let the API installer put the program in the folder «C:ProgramDataSPORE ModAPI Launcher Kit». So, when I started spore, it gave me various errors (if I can i will post a screen later). I realized that the folder C:ProgramData doesn’t exist. Or at least I installed it in the Spore folder, which is inexistent. So, I…uninstalled and reinstalled Spore. I thought that would resolve the problem but no, when I boot up the game it says that the Spore ModApi Launcher wasn’t detected.Then my genious brain thought «Hey, let’s try to install the apilauncher in SPORE folder» and since I’m stupid I installed it there, because maybe «C:ProgramDataSPORE» was, in reality,»C:Program Files (x86)Electronic ArtsSPORE». Still, SPORE gives me another error, and it says that it can’t detect the game version. If I try to boot up I still have the in-game error of not finding the launcher
I lost hope and I think that I should reset the PC. What should I do? I know, I know, it’s a messed up situation but I thought that installing it was easy like the old one. Should I uninstall the Spore ModApi?
Please help. I’m desperate.

1. ProgramData does exist, but it’s hidden by default.
2. Don’t go resetting your entire PC, that’s overkill and then some.
3. Where did you install Spore from? A disk, I take it?
4. Installation is far easier than ever before. Nothing is perfect, and things can and will go wrong either way, it seems…but as much as this may seem hard to believe, the frequency with which they do so has decreased substantially since the ModAPI Launcher Kit hit the scene.
5. All it would’ve taken was screenshots of the error messages and with a bit of luck, I may well have been able to assist you quite easily. Unfortunately, it seems it’s too late for that approach, so we’ll need to be…careful, while we untangle all of this. I need to know…have you been using any other mods or prior versions of Dark Injection before now?

I keep getting a thing that says Errorcode 5 is there a way to fix that?

I get it whenever I use the launcher.

When I run the installer it crashes instantly. I am running windows 7 and have the steam version of spore and the other two DLC games like galactic adventures and creepy/cute. ModApi.InternSetup has stopped working.

For some reason when I attempt to launch spore is decides to show this instead:

I have spore on steam and am trying to get Dark Injections, so I installed the API, clicked the easy installer, and Dark Injections just doesn’t show up on the search thing. Any help?

…in the browse dialog, did you select the folder you downloaded Dark Injection to? (Dark Injection is singular btw)

Yes I did, I had put the Dark Injection file on my desktop and it didn’t appear.

I do know Dark Injection is singular, for some reason adding an S just makes sense to my brain pf

That would explain it — since you’re running the ModAPI Easy Installer under someone else’s administrator account, it’s actually looking for the file on that user’s desktop, and not yours.

I am working on a way to properly resolve this problem, but that solution is still far from being ready for release, as are all the other changes that release will bring. For now, I suppose you’ll just have to navigate to your account’s desktop explicitly.

Пишет «Configuration Script Failed [2000]». Нажимаю Ок, на несколько секунд появляется чёрный экран и потом «Could not find a needed package. The data directory is missing or corrupt. [1004]». Снова нажимаю Ок и игра не открывается. Что делать? Искал в regedit — HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE — Wow6432Node, там нет папки Electronic Arts (игру я скачал). Система у меня 64-бит. Помогите пжжжжжжжжжжжжжжжжж.

Spore ModAPI Launcher Kit

The Spore ModAPI Launcher Kit is a toolkit which allows mods to influence Spore’s code, granting mod developers greater control over Spore and its behaviour.

It requires legally-purchased versions of both Spore and Spore Galactic Adventures and atleast Patch 1.5.1 to be installed.

NEVER explicitly run any of the Spore ModAPI Launcher Kit’s programs as Administrator under ANY circumstances. They will request these privileges automatically as needed. After installing the Spore ModAPI Launcher Kit, it is imperative that you run the Spore ModAPI Launcher whenever you want to play Spore. Do not open the game any other way.

For your own safety

As with any software, you should only download mods from trustworthy sources. If unsure, ask around.

Notice to Steam Spore users

The Spore ModAPI Launcher Kit has, on numerous occasions, proven extremely unreliable with the Steam version of Spore. As such, if you’re thinking of buying Spore, it is strongly recommended to buy it either from Origin or GOG instead of Steam. Even the retail version is preferable if you don’t mind being locked out of online features.

Previously, we recommended transferring your Steam Spore keys to Origin. Unfortunately, this has become impossible due to factors beyond our control, and we are unsure if this will ever change.

Установка (внимание, нудно и сделано для незнающих английский язык): следовать инструкции инсталлятора. Если вы устанавливаете Spore ModAPI Launcher Kit, то выберете «I am installing the Spore ModAPI Launcher Kit for the first time», далее указываете куда хотите установить программу.
После этого на рабочем столе должны появиться 3 bat файла, Spore ModAPI Launcher, Spore ModAPI Easy Installer, и Spore ModAPI Easy Uninstaller. Первым файлом запускать игру, в противном случае вы не сможете играть в spore с установленным(и) модом(ами). Второй файл нужен для того чтобы устанавливать моды. (на примере Dark injection) Забиваем путь к файлу, открываем файл, ждём, иногда ждать нужно долго, вылезает окно, выбираем нужные компоненты (на примере DI — фон и интерфейс), нажимаем «Install» — мод установлен. 3 файл — удаление модов. help wenever i run the mod installer or the mod uninstaller it runs normaly for like, 1 second and then totally freezes

Whenever I try to run the launcher, my Norton Antivirus automatically flags it as dangerous and deletes it. How do I fix this?

Your Spore ModAPI Launcher has a virus in it and so I can’t install your mod. Very frustrating. Do you have any mirror sites for downloading it?

1. It should not have a virus. Bitdefender and Malwarebytes Premium lets it thru. Try pausing your antivirus.

I got past using the easy installer to install the dark injection mod, but when I open through launch the mod wont work, when I exit the game it says “only part of a readprocessmemory or writeprocessmemoy request was completed” can someone inform me what I might have done wrong/how to fix it?

1. I don’t know why the ModAPI launcher gives that error. I get it too. What works for me is to just launch the game thru steam. I still get Dark Injection. Hopefully this works for you.

So… I tried to open this on Steam, but it didn’t really worked. So I wanted to change it to Origin, is there any way of changing where it opens it? Because when I try to open it on Origin, it just opens Steam. So I think I have to change what place it opens the game.

I accidentally ran it with the steam version instead of origin and now I can get it to change back

I keep getting an framework error each time when I try to launch Spore ModAPI launcher. I am using Spore Origin verison.
Anyway to fix this issue?

So… I appear to be the only one with this issue.
When running the launcher SETUP, normally and with administrator privileges, when clicking install, the installer crashes. Is there an alternate way of getting an installation?
I don’t know if it matters, but I’m on Windows 10 and using the Steam version with GA.

  I really love spore, its a great game, but i want the Dark injections mod installed so i have more to work with, + having an infinite complexity meter is just a heavens blessing.

Everytime I try to install it the install progress window pops up half faded in and then the program just closes

It’s not a package file anymore, it’s an .exe file. And whenever I confirm where I want to install the mod the window just closes down. A folder is created where the files should be installed in, but it’s empty. I have tried disabling both my antivirus and windows defender. No luck.

1. The Spore ModAPI Launcher Kit isn’t a mod, it’s a set of tools for installing and using mods. In any case, I’ve just updated the setup program, so try downloading a fresh copy and install through that. Let me know if that helps.

If there’s anyone left who can help me answer that. I have not started ModAPI (tried with modded Dark Injektion and without mods). All I see is different Windows with errors.

Whenever I try to use Spore ModAPI, it will glitch and open hundreds of command prompt windows, error windows, and often game windows too. I use Origin Spore, do I need to run the launcher in administrator mode or is it something else going on?

You need the March 2017 patch, which I believe GOG refer to as 3.1.0.22. Support for pre-March 2017 patch versions of GOG Spore has been deprecated for quite a while now.

What can we do then ? I have the same problem sadly

For what i learn was that isn’t working because the launcher was asking to update… so i uninstall it and run other again without updating and it works. So issue solved, if it ask for update to new version don’t do it.

Okay, that makes more sense. As I said above, you need 3.1.0.22 . If you can confirm that updating resolves the issue, then I can update the error message to clarify the problem.

i was just asking because the game is free and i already know that game on steam doesn’t support on any of this kind.

if you don’t update, you can’t use newer mods use the Spore ModAPI Launcher Kit.
It’s better to update Spore instead, since then you can use newer mods.
