My car has an intermittent fault that cannot be fixed. It has been to the garage so many times now and they cannot find the fault.
I figure there is no point putting more effort into trying to fix the problem, the car works fine — the mechanics have reassured me the car works fine, but occassionally the engine lights come on.
Now after the car goes to the mechanics the lights will stay off for a week or so. I bought a cheap Bluetooth OBD device, but when I use this to reset the codes, the lights will be on within a few minutes.
What could be the differences between the mechanics OBD device and mine? What would I need to look for to find an OBD device that could work as well as the mechanics?

What kind of vehicle is it? Are we talking about the check engine light? Some vehicles have multiple communication channels for diagnosis. On my BMW, you have to solder two pins together to see the body modules, otherwise it’s only the engine.
That being said, all scan tools should be able to read and reset the code causing the Check Engine Light — it’s actually required by law on modern cars.
Unfortunately OBD dongles aren’t always implemented very thoroughly/ consistently. If we are indeed talking about the Check Engine Light, I would go to Walmart and get their basic (~$30) scanner which should do a standard OBDII reset.
If the code resets, and then comes back after a small amount of time, it simply means your dongle is working, but the ECU keeps detecting that fault and it needs to be repaired.

Поиск ошибок ЭБУ и их сброс через ELM327 1.5 на Пресаже TU31.
Хочу поделится с владельцеми 31 кузова.История такова,что загорелся чек и машину чуть подтряхивало на холостом ходу.Мной было потрачено несколько дней на изучение вопроса как обыграть наш д.разЪем CONSALT с помощью блютуз сканера ELM327 и смартфона.Короче скачиваем бесплатно программу с плэймаркета под названием NDSii lite v1.5 и вставляем блютуз сканер вниз под рулем в колодку(для тех кто не знает)Далее включаем блютуз на смартфоне,планшете и.т д и конектимся с авто.В этой программе куча рекламмы которую просто закрываем и видим ошибку нашу,берем записываем на листок и гуглем(у меня была 0350 это неисправность одной из катушек,заменил на 880.302 )далее устраняем проблему и только после этого опять с помощью проги этой скидываем ошибку.Все работает 100% даже не сомневайтесь.Да прога на английском,но всеравно нам выбрать неизчего.Экономия 1000р на чтении а потом на сбросе ошибки!Рад если кому помог!!!

день добрый! лучше воспользоваться для андроида программой Econtools, можно ошибки стирать и динамические параметры наблюдать. без рекламы всякой. на русском, в Playmarket наверное не найти, т.к. автор забросил программу, но в яндексе ищем apk файл и устанавливаем вручную

Приветствую, коллеги. Econotool есть в Playmarket, но лучше в нете поискать beta-версию, там ошибки читаются и стираются бесплатно и у меня она работает стабильнее. Ещё наш протокол умеет обрабатывать hobDrive, но с ошибками там работает только платная версия.

точно, я давно не заглядывал в Playmarket — есть версия 2.37, а я сейчас пользую beta 1.12. Щас попробую новую версию, может чего нового появилось %)

На моей машине работает — ошибки показал и стер, датчики кое-какие кажет — надо разбираться. Сбросил коррекции — сработало. МАФ показал кажется — надо перепроверить его показания цешкой.

Есть еще одна программа, которая у меня на андроиде начала работать — eZWay, там функционал побогаче, после поездки дает расклад сколько проехал, максимальная скорость, рейтинги и прочее. Единственное долго подключается, пока все 56 протоколов не переберет, не включается, есть наверное какая-то хитрость типа прописать строку инициализации, надо разбираться. И, еще, быстродействие немножечко хромает, на эконтул показывает скорость обновления данных ( у меня от 0,78 сек до 1,25 сек прыгает), а на этом эЗВвэе субъективно дольше.

Получилось запустить диагностику через EML 327 V1.5 на магнитолле.
Теперь на магнитоле появилась функция бортового компьютера. На фото прога Nissan Tools
Кстати через программу NDS II можно обучать холостому ходу нажатием одной иконкой.Presag 1999, KA 24DE, 2WD теперь с LSD (был)
