Hello Minecrafters! So, if you are looking at this forum post then you are probably having trouble with texture packs, or as of 1.6, resource packs. Either you are having problems with textures or the packs lag your game or the packs are not recognized by Minecraft at all. This tutorial/guide will teach you how to fix that issue. Not only will this guide teach you how to fix the issue, this guide will also teach you how to use packs. So, let’s begin!

TL;DR
Make sure the texture pack is installed correctly.
Make sure the texture pack is compatible with 1.5.
If the texture pack is not appearing, contact the owner to check if it is not compatible with your version of the game.
If you use HD packs, reduce lag by turning off Smooth Lightning, turning the render distance down, changing the graphics to Fast, and trying a mod like OptiFine.
If you are getting pink/black 2×2 checkerboard patterns on blocks as textures, consider this post.

How to Use Texture/Resource Packs
Texture packs and resource packs allow players to customize the look and feel of the game. So, you probably missed the pre-1.5 days when to open a texture pack, all you had to do was exit the world, click on the «Texture Packs» button on the main screen, and scroll down and select your pack. Click Done and you’re good to go. You are also good to go if you use 1.4.7 or earlier.

Unfortunately, 1.5 Redstone update «ruined» everything. Mojang removed the texture packs button from the main screen and instead moved it to the Options menu.

So if you use version 1.5 or later, then there is the advantage you can switch packs in-game without exiting your world. Press Esc while you have your world open, go to Options and then click on Texture Packs, and then just go on from there, pretty much.

Now if you use version 1.6 or later, the button is changed to Resource Packs when Resource Packs were added but it works the same way.

To install a pack, just download and then copy-paste the pack’s folder or zip file into the pack folder the game provides you; it’s as simple as that.

Texture or Resource Pack Won’t Appear In List
If you cannot find the texture or resource pack in the list, that means Minecraft is not recognizing the pack.

First of all, make sure that the pack is in the folder and installed properly. You can find instructions above.

If the pack is still not appearing, then you may be trying to download a resource pack, but have actually downloaded a texture pack. In that case they must be converted to be compatible with the game.

If it is still not appearing, you may want to ask the pack creator to see if the texture pack you are using is not compatible with your Minecraft version.

Also make sure that the resource pack has a «pack.mcmeta» file that is configured correctly (Tip from user Sketch). If not, then the pack won’t appear.

Resource Packs Lag the Game
HD texture packs can cause a little bit of lag because they have to map large images to the blocks. Minecraft is a voxel-based video game, voxels are blocks that need images or colors on them. These images, depending on their size, can either lag the game or decrease lag. Using 8×8 «Mini» packs can decrease lag. I sometimes call these packs «lag packs» because they can decrease lag. So Yeah. If you use HD packs, then you can reduce lag by turning off Smooth Lightning, turning the render distance down (if your render distance is at Short or Tiny then bring a clock with you because you can’t see the sun or moon), changing the graphics to Fast, and trying a mod like OptiFine.

Pack Appears In Red And Says «Incompatible»
1.5 users may have this problem. Texture Packs meant for 1.4 and earlier are no longer fully compatible with snapshot 13w02a (1/10/13), and then finally 1.5 (3/13/13). This update changed the terrain.png and items.png files into their own image files in their own image folders in the «textures» folder in the minecraft.jar. If you see this message on a particular pack, it means that pack still uses the old terrain.png and items.png files, and does not use the textures folder. This means that the textures for the blocks and items remain unchanged. In that case just delete the pack, install a 1.5 updated version of the pack, and reinstall that new updated pack. If there is no new 1.5 version of the pack, then sorry.

Textures Are Problematic
There can be several causes and problems. First of all, make sure the back you are using is compatible with 1.5 and uses the new texture system from 13w02a. Any pack that uses terrain.png and items.png will not work in 1.5 correctly. If you are having graphical glitches, then you should consider getting a new graphics card.

I don’t know how to fix any other texture problem, so please reply to this forum post if you have any other texture problems and I can figure out how to fix ’em.

    http://imgur.com/DYPk1U0 As you’ll see in the image, if you zoom in, you notice that my DEFAULT Minecraft Textures are messed up. I have no downloaded RP/TPs and this began after I joined a Pixelmon server. I was on the ATLauncher and I joined a Pixelmon server in-game, I thought it was a weird custom pack, but when I went back and launched my Vanilla Minecraft, it was messed up as well. I played on a different pack and it was fine, so it seems as though my Vanilla Minecraft could’ve been the only thing affected. I’ve looked through my files and online, but no one seems to have the the same issue. If you know ANYTHING about this, I’d much appreciate some help with the situation.

    That won’t help either! I’ve completely uninstalled and reinstalled EVERYTHING, but each time I log on and start a completely new World, it’s just the same broken texture pack. ATM I don’t have ANYTHING Minecraft-related downloaded. But, I’m still going to play it anyways. It doesn’t affect my gameplay that much, but who the **** wants to see that while they’re playing Survival or a Mini-Game… I still don’t know if it was because of the Pixelmon Server or not, but I don’t like it one bit… I spent $30 on Minecraft, so I just want to know if this is fix-able or not. :/

    Hi,

    You may need to try running Minecraft with a blank slate.

    To do so, press your Windows+R keys, type in %AppData% at the dialog, and press Enter. In the window that appears, find the directory called .minecraft and right-click it to rename.

    Rename it to oldminecraft, and then try launching Minecraft (the vanilla launcher) again.

    If the error persists, it would likely be a graphics configuration error to blame.

    Hey Extreme. I appreciate you trying to help, really, but this is clearly can’t be fixed. Sorry for not getting back to you in a while. I’ve been really frustrated with this. I plan on contacting Mojang about it. It may be some sort of weird virus or hacked client thing, but either way, I need to know if it’s an internal error or not. If anything, they can probably confirm what I thought or offer me assistance. Thanks for your time. And if anyone else is reading this and has seen the imgur image in the original post, please reply if you have any helpful information. TY… :C

    Try disabling mipmapping in options/video settings. Also try reloading the textures by holding down F3 and then pressing T.

Доброго времени суток всем, кто решил обсудить со мной эту странную проблему.
Дело в том, что во время игры в Minecraft (1.8.9) текстурки некоторых блоков тупо пропадают и сквозь них можно увидеть некоторые изведанные пещеры (к примеру, когда текстурки опять начали глючить, я смог увидеть сквозь нижний блок дерева берёзы свою зомби-ферму. Также, текстурки не просто пропадают, некоторые из них и вовсе переносятся чортзнает куда, горки накладываются на деревья, отображение которых, в свою очередь, частично пропадают.
Впервые я заметил такой баг, когда делал зомби-ферму под землей. Выхожу на поверхность, а там все так, как описано выше.
А второй раз это произошло через несколько реальных дней, когда я строил рельсы от дома к ферме.
И, может быть, это имеет какую-то роль в проблеме: когда я ставлю или разрушаю блоки, напрммер, факелы, у меня подвисает игра на мгновенье. Кампуктер у меня не слабый, 8 ОЗУ, 4 ядра процессор с герцовкой 3.8, мат. плата новенькая, но видеокарта с 2012 года, шестьсот десятая НВидиа.
Может, кто-то сталкивался с этой проблемой и решил её, прошу вас помочь, ничего побного в интернете не нашел. И спасибо за то, что смогли дочитать до конца <3
P.S. Скрин дать не могу, её Величество Глупость не позволила мне додуматься до этого.

100-летний глюк, коий не лечится, насколько я знаю. Называется глитч. это проблема отрисовки текстур в библиотеке Java отвечающей за графику. При попадании камеры в пересечение блоков отрисовка посылает нафиг слишком ближние тайлы (стороны блока), не отрисовывает, и возникает ошибка памяти — ссылается не в то место, кое рисовалось. Из-за чего много текстур на время выпадает из памяти (в основном текстура гладкого камня). Этим могут пользоваться вместо модовых читов вроде икс-рэя и нодуса.
Качество и мощность железа на наличие этого глюка не влияют.

И что же, эту проблему уже в течение ста лет никто не смог решить? Что ж, глубочайше благодарю Вас за объяснение этой проблемы, она меня очень смущала, но теперь я практически спокоен

Вязальный Пепелац Мыслитель (6836) По моим наблюдениям такая гадость случается строго на Windows в нагруженных сессиях с очень большим рабочим временем. Можно еще сюда приплести, если сессия (сеанс работы пользователя в ОС) подвергалась входу через RDP. Ибо в пингвине (Ubuntu 14.04) таких косяков не наблюдалось — стоит Optifine или нет.

Баг с текстурками

Проблема с текстурами. Через некоторое время игры, багаются текстурки, становятся прозрачными(блоки), видно только игроков, сундуки и т.д. В менюшке после смены текстур пака, баг пропадает, но через некоторое время текстурки опять «ломаются». Щито делать?

Проверь, насколько хорошо твоё соединение с интернетом. Такая проблема у меня возникала, когда интернет «вис». Самый легкий способ это устранить — перезайти на сервер.

Баг с текстурами в Майнкрафте

Всех приветствую, сразу к делу, появился баг, делал всё что мог, ковырялся в настройках, переустанавливал джаву, сам майн, и даже драйвера видюхи,
играю на ТЛаунчере, но к слову происходит это везде, а также только на версиях выше 1.14, включая саму 1.14, надеюсь кто-то с этим сталкивался и знает решение проблемы

Это проблема видеокарты, не игры. Скорее всего, не хватает видеопамяти. Если такое появляется, просто нажми сочетание F3+a, чтобы обновить отображение чанков. Если текстуры не появляются, перезагрузи пакеты ресурсов при помощи F3+t

Не поможет – попробуй обновить драйверы видеокарты, а затем сбросить их настройки в панели управления видеопроцессором.

Проблема с текстурами в minecraft из-за мода optifine.

Помогите решить проблему: для хорошей работы на все сборки ставлю мод optifine, но при последнем обновлении forge решил обновить все моды, после этого из-за optifine стали сильно глючить текстуры.
Как сделать так чтобы либо все работало хорошо без optifine, либо с ним?

Удали Optifine (подлагивать будет, текстуры глючить не будут)

Вставь в конец build.gradle

idea { module { inheritOutputDirs = true } }

Импортни заново проект. Покажи свою папку resources и скажи id мода.

Чувак. У меня была такая проблема но по итогу вот волшебный код.
Main.modid + «:» + «твоя текстура»
( Мейн это мейн , ты вызываешь главный метод).(Твой мод ИД)+(«:»)+(«Твоя текстура»)

Зайди через проводник где лежат текстуры и заново переименуй все файлы. Была такая проблема на винде и Идеешке.

Это довольно известная проблема, вызванная обновлённым графическим движком. Начиная с версии 1.17 (а точнее, со снапшота 21w10a) моджанги попытались улучшить графический движок, чтобы решить ситуацию с низкой производительностью графики. Но так как у разработчика, создающего графический движок, руки растут не из того места, получилось то, что получилось – подобные графические артефакты на некоторых устройствах и сильное падение производительности на слабых устройствах. Зато люди с новыми видеокартами имеют немного больше fps.

Сама проблема вызвана устаревшими драйверами для некоторых видеокарт, которые каким-то чудом в принципе умудрились запустить 1.17. На официальном багтрекере Minecraft уже создано более 120 заявок, описывающих эту проблему, а в официальном сабреддите Minecraft пост с этой проблемой так вообще набрал более 1,500 апвоутов (а затем, судя по всему, был удалён). Тем не менее, разработчики продолжают упорно игнорировать эту проблему и закрывать все заявки на багтрекере с причиной «Решено».
На данный момент у проблемы нет другого общего решения, кроме устранения проблемы аппаратно – обновление драйверов до последней версии с сайта производителя или замена видеокарты на более новую.

Однако мне известен случай, когда человеку помогла установка мода Sodium, представляющий собой отдельный графический движок, в несколько раз более производительный, чем ванильный, который адаптируется к вашему графическому оборудованию.

Второй способ, который, в теории, может помочь – установка пакета совместимости для OpenGL. Правда, сделать это смогут лишь пользователи Windows 10. В теории, это должно помочь, однако точных результатов собственных тестов у меня нет.

Возможно, когда нибудь, разработчики одумаются и возьмут в свою команду JellySquid, которая напишет игре нормальный графический движок, не привязанный к конкретной версии OpenGL (как это было в Sodium для 1.16.5).
