In MS Office, by default, the recognition of malicious links in a website is always turned on. Well, you have the option to turn off the detection so as to avoid any kind of security alert.

  • Open your Office program, tap the File.
  • Hit the Options.
  • Now go to the Trust Center option and tap the Trust Center Settings.

This error appears on multiple[le computers since we switched to single sign on. Previously we had different login and password for network and email. Now with SSO just the one. Doesn’t happen for every user and not everytime they start Outlook.

We have Office 365 and using Outlook 2013. Machines are all windows 7 with latest updates installed.

I’m getting this same error but from my OneNote 2013 vr. 15.0.4569.1503 MSO (15.0.4569.1506) 64-bit.

I have OneNote 2013, Outlook 2013, and Lync 2013 all installed. I can log into both Outlook 2013 and Lync 2013 with no problems (using my work email address+PW); however, when I start up OneNote 2013 I get the message on each of my NoteBooks (at top in a thin yellow banner):

«We’re sorry, your account doesn’t seem to have permissions to edit this notebook. Click here to try again.»

So I do click there and I get a pop-up saying:

The application experienced an internal error loading the SSL libraries.»

The weird thing is that this just started happening recently. When it was working I still had OneNote2013 installed; however, I had Outlook 2007 and Lync 2013 installed. Between the time it was working and now (when it is no longer working), I upgraded my Office suite to 2013; therefore, getting Outlook 2013, newest Lync2013, Word 2013, etc. Again, my Outlook2013 and Lync2013 are working fine, it is just OneNote2013. Any help would be appreciated — I love OneNote2013, I just wish it would work for me now :,( :,(.

I am able to access my Notebooks just fine by directly pasting my Notebook URLs into my web browser; therefore, it is obviously not an issue with the Notebook, but instead some issue with my instance of OneNote2013 or its setup.

Also, I am able to access these Notebooks fine on my 2nd computer that is running which is also running OneNote2013; however, it is running vr. 15.0.4733.1000 MSO (15.0.4737.1001) 64-bit.

Is there a known issue with 15.0.4569.1503 and therefore, I should try to upgrade?

Scope:

For Windows clients using exchange.mit.edu email services who are NOT win.mit.edu domain joined machines.

Purpose:

This document provides a solution for Outlook 2016, Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2010 and clients that receive an SSL Cert error upon loading a new or existing profile. This error appears as a Security Alert for mit.edu which notes “The application experienced an internal error loading the SSL libraries. This site should not be trusted.” There is no actual problem with the certificate returned. This is an issue with Outlook’s AutoDiscover process.

Example:

Verbose:

This alert is due to a change in Outlook client behavior with Windows 8.x and Outlook 2013 although reports have surfaced from clients running Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2010. In all cases, a registry fix can be applied which removes the invalid connection attempt that generates this error. The connection attempt is made concurrently with other Exchange AutoDiscover protocol queries and exempting this request does not impact the security or usability of Outlook or the Exchange platform for email.

Solution:

Warnings

This solution describes changes to the Windows Registry.
Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, view following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

322756 — How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
MIT IS&T and Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved.
These changes may cause problems if you use Exchange at another organization.
These Registry changes will work fine for computers reading mail from MIT’s Exchange server, but have the potential to cause problems for computers that read mail from other Exchange servers. You may need to revert the changes if a computer leaves MIT or needs to connect to non-MIT Exchange servers.

Solution for Outlook 2016

Create or import the following key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice16.0OutlookAutoDiscover]
"ExcludeHttpsRootDomain"=dword:00000001

Solution for Outlook 2013

Create or import the following key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice15.0OutlookAutoDiscover]
"ExcludeHttpsRootDomain"=dword:00000001

Solution for Outlook 2010

Create or import the following key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice14.0OutlookAutoDiscover]
"ExcludeHttpsRootDomain"=dword:00000001

  • My web application is written in JAVA and it resides on weblogic server.  Interestingly, while exporting a report to excel, I get certification error in Windows 7 only.  All works in Windows 10.   In Windows 7, the application
    exports to excel fine when there are few rows to download.  Also, this happens only with two of the pages.  All other reports work fine with exporting to excel.  There is no difference in code.
