PDF?

Wavebreakmedia Ltd / Wavebreak Media / Getty Images

Please open your Internet Explorer, click Tools — Internet Options — Advanced Tab,
Under Settings, do not check «Enable third-party browser extensions*», then Apply and OK. Restart the IE, check if it can print.

If it resolve the issue, please fully scan your computer to find if there’s any virus or malware.

Furthermore, you can remove IE9, and use IE8 to check the result.

Hope that helps.

OK, I found the solution for this, at least for IE 64 bit. My IE 32 bit never had this problem. I am using Windows Home Premium 64 bit.

I read, from someone else, that opening IE 64 bit (right click on IE icon) and select «Run as Administrator» would allow you to print. Doing that way has to be done each time you open IE 64 bit. BUT. If you right click on the IE 64 bit icon (not the one in the Taskbar) and slide down to ‘properties’ and then left click, you will see an «Advanced» tab box (about 2/3rds the way down) that allows you to open another properties page. Click it open and select «Run as administrator». This will allow you to print by just opening IE 64 bit the normal way and going to whatever webpage you want to print. I have done several tests and all seems back to normal.

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that you are getting an internal error when printing from IE 10, and IE 11. I am happy to look into this for you!

For further assistance, I will need some additional information:

  1. The Product/Model Number of your printer. Follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
  2. If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
  3. If the printer is able to make copies.
  4. If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
  5. If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.

Please see this post, Want Good Answers? Ask Good Questions, by @Bob_Headrick, so you can get the most out of these forums.

If you are using Windows, please try our HP Print and Scan Doctor, and let me know what happens!

Hope to hear from you soon, and thank you for posting!

Cannot print from Internet Explorer 9 using some Canon printers

Warning: The retired, out-of-support Internet Explorer 11 desktop application is scheduled to be permanently disabled through a Microsoft Edge update on certain versions of Windows 10 on February 14, 2023.

For more information, see aka.ms/iemodefaq.

We highly recommend setting up IE mode in Microsoft Edge and disabling IE11 prior to this date to ensure your organization doesn’t experience business disruption.

Symptoms

Note The affected printer models are imageRUNNER, imageCLASS, imagePRESS, Satera, i-SENSYS, LASER SHOT and imagePROGRAF.

Consider the following scenario:

You install a Canon printer and a Canon printer driver on a computer that is running one of the following operating systems:

Windows Server 2008

Windows Server 2008 R2

You try to print a webpage in Windows Internet Explorer 9.

In this scenario, the print job may fail. Additionally, when you have a certain Canon printer driver installed (including drivers for imageRUNNER, imageCLASS, imagePRESS, Satera, i-SENSYS, LASER SHOT and imagePROGRAF printers), you may receive an error message that resembles one of the following:

Error pop-up: Script Error
An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Error pop-up: Message from webpage
There was an internal error, and Internet Explorer is unable to print this document.

Internet Explorer 9 applies the XPS Print API for print jobs.

This issue may occur when you configure the Canon printer to print multiple pages on one sheet of paper. For example, you click 2 on 1 in the Page Layout list when you try to print the webpage. But this may also occur when certain settings like scaling, color modes are changed from their default values.

This issue may occur when you use other applications that apply the XPS Print API for print jobs.
