I have an AVC file I’m trying to run through tsMuxeR for the sole purpose of changing frame rate. Each time I try (even with different but equally recorded files) I get the -2 error code. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Why are you trying to change the frame rate ? What is the background context ?
If the original was in sync, you’ll go out of sync changing from 59.94 => 29.97 , because you’ll play at half speed and double the duration, but the audio will be full duration
I’m fearing you are correct and I was under misapprehension as to expected results.
What I have is content recorded from a set-top box (via Colossus) and was hoping to reduce the file size of the 720p content by way of simple alternate frame discards. For some odd reason I was expecting every other frame was merely duplication — how that thought would have made sense is a mystery. Was probably equating it to an actual re-encoding where frame rate change can be accomplished successfully. Since tsMuxeR stopped after a short run there was a file fragment and it’s clear to see your advising of half-speed playback is quite evident. ShowBiz looks to offer the option of reducing frame rate at point of capture but I can’t seem to get it to output a reduced frame rate.
Not a biggie as I don’t record much progressive content so, while I’ll still tinker with ShowBiz to see if I can coax a reduced frame rate, I’ll be happy with full 720p.

I’ve started to rip my entire BluRay collection as I’ve got my hands on a Oppo BDP-103EU capable of playing back all those lovely MKV’s containing remuxed VC-1 / AVC / H.264 videos and DTS:HD MA, Dolby TrueHD and FLAC audio tracks.
I’ve gone through quite a lot of titles already:
— Lord of the Rings Special Extended BluRay Collection, included all special features (mostly DVDs using MakeMKV)
— The Matrix BluRay Collection
— The Hobbit an Unexpected Journey
— Indiana Jones BluRay Collection
— Skyfall
— Kung Fu Panda
— X-Men BluRay Collection
— Harry Potter BluRay Collection
But there is much more to be done with. I’m using BDInfo to determine with playlist (mpls) file to add into tsMuxeR GUI, I then demux the the main video, the main audio (DTS:HD MA / Dolby TrueHD) and the English subtitle, and the Norwegian one if it’s available. The I use Eac3to and More GUI to make a perfect FLAC copy of the DTS:HD MA / Dolby TrueHD track and then I mux the files (video + dts:hd ma / truehd + flac + subtitle) into MKV using mkvmerge GUI.
This has worked perfectly thus far, but after using AnyDVD HD for ripping Ice Age 4: Continental Drift I’m facing a problem whereas tsMuxeR is unable to demux the correct mpls file. According to BDInfo I’m supposed to select 00800.mpls, or about ten other alternatives including the main video but no matter which I chose tsMuxeR gives me the following:
SmartLabs tsMuxeR. Version 1.10.6 http://www.smlabs.net
Decoding H264 stream (track 1): Profile: High@4.1 Resolution: 1920:1080p Frame rate: 23.976
H.264 stream does not contain fps field. Muxing fps=23.976
Can’t create output file F:VideosIce AgeIce Age 4 — Continental Drift0941+00505+00506+00507+00508+00509+00511+00 512+00513+00514+00515+00516+00517+00518+00519+0052 0+00522+00523+00524+00525+00526+00527+00528+00529+ 00530+00531+00532+00533+00534+00535+00536+00537+00 538+00539+00540+00541+00911+00546.track_4113.264
How am I supposed to get around this?
You didn’t say so explicitly, but it seems you’re ripping to hard drive first. I don’t have that movie, but since it’s a very popular Blu-Ray, I’m guessing it had advanced copy protection, and it may be that the structure of your rip is faulty as a result. But I think the following is more likely:
From the log info you posted, it’s apparent that the main movie titleset is spanned over multiple m2ts files. That can be a problem for tsMuxer, particularly if there are any sync byte discontinuities in the audio after joining the m2ts files.
I suggest you dispense with ripping to hard drive first. Try running AnyDVDHD in the background and extract main movie direct from disc using Clown_BD, which will identify the longest titlesets without needing BDinfo. (You can select from the list of titlesets identified, longest one listed first). If there are any discontinuities in the audio, the log will tell you. Clown_BD will attempt to fix any problems, and may require one or even two more passes.
That method has worked for me when tsMuxer fails. Good luck.

tsMuxeR GUI error : cannot recognize some tracks
Thread Tools

Hi,
I try the new beta 2.0.8 of tsMuxeR and find that it cannot recognize some tracks of video created by iDTV on local TVB stations. Anyone know who to contact to have their testing and fix?
The error message is «Some tracks not recognized. This tracks was ignored. »
Thanks
Last edited by sunnychan; 7th Nov 2013 at 01:56 . Reason: change the wrong version to 2.0.8
Try the oldest version and see if it works.
I am not familiar with what format your output is, it is TS, MTS, or ?
If you can’t get the oldest version to work, you may have to use something like Avidemux or videoRedo to work your files.
Avidemux should be able to change to TS or demux the streams.
You must recognise that broadcast streams are sometimes chaotic and have to use more care to work them.
Thanks for the rely.
I am trying it on *.ts video files. As they are developing a new beta, I would like to contact them to fix the issues.
Without knowing anything else about your streams, my guess is that your stream contains some DVB or Teletext subtitles which tsMuxeR doesn’t support.
Also for teletext subtitles telxcc should be able to help extracting the subtitles to .srt, which then could be fed to tsMuxeR.
What hinders you?
Here are a bunch of methods I came up just be looking at tsMuxeR and a bit of searching on the web:
a. you could donate something through PayPal and add a note to that
b. you could make an account over in the doom9 forum and post about the problem in the tsMuxeR update for 3D blu-ray thread
c. you could try to post over in the Network Optix — Forums or contact their support, since the newer versions are labeled ‘Network Optix tsMuxeR’ you might get them there.
d. you could post the details here and hope that someone who is a user here and over at doom9 will relay your information to physic (= user name of the tsMuxeR developer over at Doom9s forum)
What are you trying to accomplish with tsmuxer?
The main reason I mentioned avidemux is for the purpose of picking which streams you need to work with.
If your output is variable frame/bit rate. as well as the audio, tsmuxer may not like it.
If it has stream material foreign to tsmuxer, it may not work until ran through something else that correct info.
Avidemux, videoredo and other editors usually can deal with output from these OTA recordings somewhat better than tsmuxer initially.
I am speaking from experience regarding US broadcast and presume the capture of OTA from other countries may be similar.
Tsmuxer is expecting a clean output source, such as from disc and such.

I made a 3D m2ts today and tried it on TMT5, TMT6 and Stereoscopic Player. It plays on all players fine. I can’t get it to work on my projector (AE8000) using the native setting (frame packing??). Same result with a MakeMKV 3d mkv. |

The 3D Movies, which were remuxed by tsmuxer, are worked really good on PowerDVD13, TMT6 but I don’t know why somebody said they were glitched on DUNE Base 3D and can’t burn it to Blu-ray Disc (same situation with Dune Base 3D on real 3D Blu-ray Player). One person has said that the total bitrate of whole movie were over 55Mbps. So that it will cause that problem. Is it true? If I was correct, please fix that problem. Thank you. |

However you can have spike of bitrate. More info is needed to solve issue related to your problem.

Can anyone tell me what this means? Code: tsMuxeR finished with error code -2. Reading buffer overflow. Possible container streams are not syncronized. Please, verify stream fps. File name: H:BDMVSTREAM0003.m2ts I tried to demux a playlist which consists of three .m2ts files. 00003.m2ts is the first of the three. tsMuxerGUI on Fedora fc19 x86-64 To date I have found that the following deps need to be installed: Requires: glib(x86-32) Never-the-less the GUI keeps crashing when trying to load a video file — function (tsMuxeR) returns an unexpected value. e.g.: *** Error in `/usr/bin/tsMuxeR’: corrupted double-linked list: 0x0834c5b0 *** This happens both on 2.3.2 and 1.10.6 The function concerned will give a warning message on compiling the linux binaries so should be easy to chase… |

is there any easy way to adding subtitle/audio on a blu-ray disc with keeping the original menu ? Or @physic, can you make anything about this ? Seamless branched discs are very complicated . Thank you. |

Hotfix 2.3.4(b) is ready: tsMuxeR_2.3.4(b).zip I’ll upload Linux and Mac version tomorrow. ———— Network Optix tsMuxeR 2.3.4(b) ———————- I spent a lot of time for investigate pp.#1 with Duna player. Actually I do not have this player, but Sony BD validator reported some strange issue for movie Cars 2 just in position where Duna has problem. I fixed this issue in validator. But I did not found clearly bug in tsMuxeR. In any way I have some surmise what cause a problem. So, new build pass sony BD validator in this position, I hope Duna player will be fixed as well. Who has this player, please try disk Cars2 around position 1:12:00.

For example, retail BDs usually have a «start mux time» of 0:00:11.6506666666 which in 45KHz ticks corresponds to 524280 (in decimal) or 00 07 FF F8 (in hex). Currently there is no way to enter such value. So if there’s a possibility to enter the «start mux time» in 45KHz ticks, either in decimal or in hexadecimal, it would be perfect. I need this option because I remux retail Blu-rays a lot (keeping original structure, but changing the main movie .m2ts file). This procedure requires some editing in the .mpls files afterwards using BDEdit application. The editing won’t be necessary if I can input the exact same start mux time the original .m2ts has. I guess this is the reason why this feature as it is was introduced. I believe with the change I propose it would be perfect. Quote:

Physic, I have a Popcorn Hour A-400, not a Dune..and I had the Cars 2 3D.iso that has the issue around the 1 hour mark where it froze on my Popcorn Hour A-400 during playback in 2D on my 2D HDTV. UP 3D froze at 1:14:22 mark. If I only had the same Sony BD Validator s/w, then I could see what it sees? I will use Crossover and run the windows tsMuxer 2.4.3b and see if the remux of Cars 2 3D is fixed or not. Its gonna take about 5 hours to remux for me on my iMac. Thanks! |

nautilus7 xledentaldj Validator sees that last video frame of movie (last video PTS) at 1:12:40 positing. But it is very strange because I did a lot of tests and all data correct. H.264 track of this moovie has a lot of H.264 fillter packets (packets do not contain any data, just add some trafic). I surmise that this packets cause a issue. I introduce filtering such data from source track. After that file size slightly reduced and validator error disapeared. |

tsMuxeR error code -2

Since tsMuxeR stopped after a short run there was a file fragment and it’s clear to see your advising of half-speed playback is quite evident. *** Error in `/usr/bin/tsMuxeR’: corrupted double-linked list: 0x0834c5b0 ***
This happens both on 2.3.2 and 1.10.6
The function concerned will give a warning message on compiling the linux binaries so should be easy to chase.
is there any easy way to adding subtitle/audio on a blu-ray disc with keeping the original menu ? Or @physic, can you make anything about this ? Seamless branched discs are very complicated .

Can anyone tell me what this means?
I tried to demux a playlist which consists of three .m2ts files. 00003.m2ts is the first of the three. Demuxing failed at 55%.
eac3to says this of the mpls:

Hotfix 2.3.4(b) is ready:
I’ll upload Linux and Mac version tomorrow.
———— Network Optix tsMuxeR 2.3.4(b) ———————-
— Possible fixed problem in Duna player with some movies.
— PCM inside VOB was anonced before, but actually did not work. Fixed.
— UI fix: if open MPLS, then close, track list is not cleared. It is broken in previous build only.
— Subtitles renderer fixed (broken in previous build only after in/out effects)
I spent a lot of time for investigate pp.#1 with Duna player.
Hi, thank you physic for the latest updates to the program. I would like to ask for a feature:
Currently, the «start mux time» can be entered in h:mm:ss.mmm format. It would be great if it could be entered in 45KHz ticks format. This way I would be able to set the exact value I want.
Its gonna take about 5 hours to remux for me on my iMac.
nautilus7
It is not a next release. I consider this version as hot fix. Release is going to be at Sunday as usual.

Sorry, It was too late yestarday and I mixed up everything. I mean Popcorn Hour A-400.
Validator sees that last video frame of movie (last video PTS) at 1:12:40 positing.

Not a biggie as I don’t record much progressive content so, while I’ll still tinker with ShowBiz to see if I can coax a reduced frame rate, I’ll be happy with full 720p.

tsMuxeR finished with error code -2 with Ice Age 4: Continental Drift BDMV

Good luck.

What I am thinking is physic would add option which will set force flag on all time stamps of PGS and essentially become forced subtitle.

If physic decides to add this feature I’m sure many people will find it useful. But either way, a big thank you to physic for his continued work on tsmuxer.

small question: how come that the container overhead differes between tsmuxer 1.10.6 and 2.08 ? (2.08 produces a ~40MB larger file for 22,3GB video and 0.7gb audio during muxing)

Great work on the update, but it appears muxing transport streams doesn’t work in this release. When I try to mux a .264 and .ac3 together into a .ts I get «The parameter is incorrect.» If I select m2ts as output, it works fine. |
