Unable to save current preset make sure you have write permission как исправить

Path of Exile - лучшая бесплатная игра в жанре Action RPG. Мрачный мир, глубокая и сложная система прокачки персонажа, бартерная система торговли без привычных для жанра золотых монет

Hi,

After the recent Nvidia driver update the game became unplayble on DX11, so I had to change to vulkan and now runs smooth again but, I get this error message from Vulkan saying: «Unable to save current preset. Make Sure you have write permissions to E:CEMUDefaultPreset.ini».

That’s the problem, the folder no longer exist. This was my WiiU Emulator folder but it’s been a while that I deleted that. So, I don’t know what to do, hope you guys can help me out.

CEMU probably change settings for some vulkan layers (layers are a kind of vulkan plugins to keep things simple)

There is an optional system variable to set vulkan layers VK_INSTANCE_LAYERS

1. use (windows key+R)
2. type systempropertiesadvanced
3. Hit OK, a window should open.
4. In this window, click on environment variables.
5. In the next window, look for VK_INSTANCE_LAYERS in system variables.
6. Empty or remove this variable.

I don’t know if CEMU uses other vulkan variables (but you should remove them if you see others here).

As far as i know, vulkan system variables are mainly for development and no games add them (i don’t have any on my pc unless i play with the vulkan dev kit).

Okaay, it seems there’s also a way to do the same thing through the registry, look at :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREKhronosVulkanExplicitLayers
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREKhronosVulkanImplicitLayers

Keep layers used by your programs (steam for example)

znd perhaps some settings that CEMU has modified in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREKhronos
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREKhronosVulkan

And for the looks of it the only one that I don’t know what it’s about is the ReShade64 one, so I don’t know if I can delete it or not. And I tried to search for CEMU once again on the regedit and this came up:

But same thing, I don’t know if I can delete that one. Maybe I have to reinstall Vulkan?

This solution is for people who have installed ReShade using the installer from this site. If you have downloaded a mod somewhere, seek help from its creator — this is not their support forum. If that’s not possible, see solution 1.

1) The «Do it for me / I don’t wanna read» solution:
a) Delete the entire game folder and re-download the game. No, just uninstalling the game will not work.

2) The «But I don’t wanna re-download my game and still don’t wanna read» solution:
a) Go to the game’s executable folder and delete any of the following files you see:

3) The «Okay, fine, I’ll read» solution:
Follow the solution to question 2, then delete any of these additional files:

Re Uninstall Re-Shade NOT WORKING.

I have followed the instructions above & deleted just two files plus the ReShade Folder.
But I still get a message advising of a ReShade update every time I start my Lockhead Martin P3D flight simulator.

When I press SHIFT+F2 I still get the ReShade menu though none of the links work.
I really do not wish to uninstall/reInstall P3D because it’s a very complicated simulator & i have many hardware addons calibrated to P3D.

There must be files located somewhere.

Why does this program not have an Uninstall option? Beats me!
Please can someone help me to remove this ReShade software from my P3D installation.

What game, is it just that game, and did you delete the game folder completely and reinstall it?

I had ReShade installed about 2 years ago on Minecraft. I feel like I’ve deleted every folder with anything to do with ReShade. I can go to the MinecraftLauncher.exe folder as much as I want and I can’t find any of those folders. If anyone knows where they’re located it would be a big help.

I’ve recently downloaded and installed a wholly new game on my system (Red Dead Redemption 2). I have NEVER used Reshade with this title, ever. There are no Reshade DLLs or Shaders in the game directory.

Yet EVERY time I boot RDR2 I get the «Reshade is now installed succesfully! Press Home to. » popup.

I don’t want reshade to be running. This game crashes for me constantly and I have a suspicion that Reshade has something to do with it, as I’ve exhausted all other options. It even pops up when I run the game in DX12 mode, when supposedly I’ve only installed Reshade for Vulkan games. And yes, before anyone asks, I did run the installer again and unchecked the option that enables Reshade globally in all Vulkan games. But the message still pops up regardless of whether I boot RDR2 in Vulkan or in DX12 mode.

I used the 4.9.1 installer to get reshade working on CEMU for Breath of The Wild while using the Vulkan renderer. But that’s been quite a while ago, and that’s no reason for it to show in games that have absolutely nothing to do with my CEMU install.

It is absolutely bonkers that an installer can apparently place files in my system and no one seems to be aware of the fact that this is happening, and the installer program doesn’t allow for an «uninstall» option. So now I’m stuck with this mess with no way to remove it.

I’d like to ask the creator of Reshade to include a full uninstall option in the installer, or at the very least to divulge what type of files the installer creates so they can be manually removed. Because apparently the «toggle on/off» button isn’t working, and the installer isn’t divulging any information on what changes it makes when you toggle options or install files.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Please Log in or Create an account to join the conversation.

Unticking the checkbox does a full uninstall (it deletes all files ReShade created in C:ProgramDataReShade + the relevant Vulkan layer registry keys), there is no other option to include. Latest ReShade setup also clearly warns you about what is happening before you can tick that checkbox on.
You can also open up «Log» tab in the UI and check the first log message. It will tell you where ReShade got loaded from («Initializing [. ] loaded from «<path>» [. ]»). My guess is that you did in fact install ReShade multiple times (once globally, which was disabled again and once locally to RDR2) and have not uninstalled the local installation again.

I agree, I installed reshade to mess around with it on World of Warcraft : Classic. It dropped my frames so much and wasn’t worth the time to adjust fliters to make it look good and all the community presets suck.

That aside, You are right! I tried to uninstall by manually deleting all the directx DLL’s it installed but that didn’t work, Tried the «Uninstaller» that comes with reshade, nope .

Funny thing is , It even shows » Reshade 4.0.2 » on every applcation that uses direct x .

Heres a screenshot of an application i use called ajour to update my addons which is in a complete diffrent drive than any of my reshade files :

File Attachment:

So i know for a fact reshade imbed’s itself system-wide. And I modify my nvidia driver’s and update and remove video drivers alteast once every month so uninstalling my nvidia drivers and reinstalling them doesn’t work either.

Maybe uninstalling direct X and reinstalling it? Ill write back after I give it a try.

*****EDIT*****
It’s the vulkan counterpart of Reshade.. It is a system wide runtime which I knew might be the issue.

Okay, the soulution I found to work for me.

Download the latest Reshade Installer EXE , Right click it and » Apply to all users » then click run as administrator. Exit out of this tab.

Run reshade, click » Enable reshade in Vulkan Globally » , then select the game you installed reshade on originally or a random game.

Pick whatever direct x implementation the game uses and uncheck all shaders and hit ok and once you get to the » Edit Reshade Settings » Close the window.

Re Run Reshade Installer , UNSELECT » Enable reshade in Vulkan Globally » * This is our issue with reshade still enabled system wide after uninstalling * and go through the same previous steps in my guide.

Select the same game you selected earlier and the same direct x method and uninstall again.

I know it doesn’t make much sense to reinstall reshade eventhough it’s obviously still in our system’s but this is the onlyway I found to easily uninstall the vulken reshade runtime.

I found the solution . Delete a file named Reshade in C://Program Data/

The setup tool specifically tells you that enabling the global option will enable ReShade for ALL Vulkan games (which RDR2 is, no matter which API is actually active). To uninstall, simply uncheck that checkbox again.

Hi Im sry to hear that. The only thing I can think about right away is that AC orgins.ini need write permission. So I suggest you check if you can edit/change files in the folder, or if read-only is enabled in file properties. I will come back if I can think of anything else.
If not use «take ownership» tools or change security settings on that folder. Program files folders is typical protected by windows.

Hi. I love it !!! It would be perfect if i would be able to save the preset…Same as Shadow in the comment section…RED writing saying unable to save current preset…You think that there is any way to fix this? I tried to give permission to write the Ubisoft folder but for some reason it sets itself back to only read.

If for someone the .ini is not loading when you start the game, check inside the ReShade.ini and change the current path. It says «F:UbisoftAssassin’s Creed OriginsAC origins.ini». Change everyhting before «/AC origins.ini» for the installation path in your machine.

I get this too (IntelliJ 15.0.5), but only when the «Markdown support» plugin is used. Once a .md file is visualised the error starts appearing.

For future reference current version: 2016.1.20160405.143

Not a very solution-oriented post, but maybe this can help someone further pinpoint the source of the error.

This workaround allows you continue using «Markdown Support».

Uninstall the latest version of «Markdown Support» and install version «8.0.0.20160127.143.1» from https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/7793?pr=idea. Everything works fine.

This can also happen when the disk drive where the currently opened project is stored is full (0 bytes left on device). The system tries to write to the .idea folder but cannot, so it gives the same error as if there were no access rights.

This happened to me as there was a process writing to disk in the background until it was full.

Workaround for Windows users.
My installation is located in:

«C:Program FilesJetBrainsphpstorm»

The location gives it problems with the saving of files. (probably to do with user rights and UAC, not totally figured out what rights the folder needs, but for easy resolving I removed and reinstalled Phpstorm to

«C:developmentphpstorm» and it resolved the issue.

I encountered this problem when I open up IDEA for the first time after copying the old config files backed up with my Live CD USB before reinstalling my Ubuntu. I think it is because I copied the files from the old OS and to the new OS as root, so the ownership of the folder is changed. Now when I want to write to it as another user, it blocks me from doing it.

Change the ownership to your user and change permission to add write solves it. You use chown and chmod.

I faced the same issue today and it might help some people if above solutions cant help. I am using dual boot system. Win 8 and Kubuntu. I got this problem with my intellij installed in Kubuntu. I realized my project was in a NTFS partition which was marked as READ ONLY. This happens sometimes when you shutdown windows and start computer into your linux.

Solution is to go back to your windows OS and restart it and switch to linux. Also, you could hold shift and press shutdown button, then choose to turn of your pc in the blue menu.

No problem here, look

I’ve been doing that, but it doesn’t save for me.

See:

(Sorry it didn’t save my cursor. Requested feature for Vegas Stream :)

It was for me hard to see in your video but how did you save the preset?

You must give your new preset a unique name. You cannot overwrite a default preset. You must run Vegas as Administrator and have write permission to the preset folder.

@j-v I did it exactly as in your vid. I saved across from where I typed the new preset name.

And did you after giving a new name also pushed the «save» button?

Yes, I did that. 1 and 2.

Definitely because of the Windows Security

It was the “Virus and threat protection”— “Virus and threat protection settings”— “Controlled folder settings”

You need to add the Vegas Pro original folder path there, so it will be allowed for you to add folders & rename files there.
