Multi-track recording from Yamaha TF1
Hi folks, I’m new around here, so please go easy on me. I’ve done my best to search the forum and the interwebs for answers, but can’t seem to find what I’m looking for.
My church has a Yamaha TF1 as our FOH console. It comes with a license of Nuendo Live 2, which allows us to record each channel to separate WAV files during live performances. This can be used for virtual soundcheck and audio training. However, Nuendo is a clunky solution to operate. I own a license of Ableton Live 10 and would love to use that instead of Nuendo.
We have a Host USB out on the TF1 console which connects to the laptop running Nuendo. When you start Nuendo (with the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver installed), it automatically loads 34 tracks of audio (32 mono + 2 stereo for the masters) and records at the push of a button, essentially. After the recording is done, or after loading a previous recording, and setting the inputs on the TF1 to USB (rather than the default line/mic option), I can playback the recording and control levels/effects etc on the TF1 console as if I had the original musicians and singers on stage.
I spent an hour this morning trying to get the same thing configured in Ableton and couldn’t do it. The best I managed was Ableton recognising a single mic channel for recording, but no other audio tracks in Ableton were picking up any signal from the TF1. Also, playing back multitrack recordings from Ableton to the TF1 resulted in only the stereo masters coming through channel 1 and 2 on the TF1 console.
I would greatly love your help with this. Thanks in advance.

Running Ableton Live 10.1.30
If you need more info about my laptop, I can provide that. It’s a 2020 Dell XPS 13 (9310), with Windows 10 Home 20H2 build I believe. As I said, I followed instructions to us the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver, and can ‘see’ the TF as input and output device options.
I suspect my issue is in the routing within Ableton. This is something I’m completely new to.
(If you posted that link for some other reason, you might want to help me out by spelling it out).

Alright, so an update on this…I’ve partly figured it out.
It was to do with channel routing, which I’ve never used before.
Now that I’ve figured out how to do that, everything seems to be recording and playing back as expected…except…every minute or two, the playback stops briefly and then continues. It’s as if it’s a buffer issue?? Maybe? Any suggestions on what to check?

Yet you still FAIL to give us any real info to go on.
Here try reading and following the info required. All basic stuff.
— Make sure you’re using the latest version of Live available to you.
— Update your OS to the most current version (if you can).
— Make sure ALL your drivers are up to date for things like your sound card, computer, motherboard, etc.
— Try the default drivers for your soundcard, ASIO4ALL is not a magic solution to all situations. The included drivers are almost always better in fact.
— Provide some details about your computer system, audio interface, what version of Live you are using, what OS, etc.

Live is up to date afaik. v10.1.30
My laptop is up to date, including all drivers.
I have provided the info about the interface, OS, computer system and version of Live.
If I’ve neglected some other vital piece of info why don’t you let me know what you need to know.
It seems none of this had anything to do with my initial routing issues…but I guess it could have.
Any help on the glitching audio in playing back multitrack recordings (as described below), I’d be grateful.

Have you tried adjusting the buffer sizes in Ableton preferences? Another thing worth checking and ensuring both Ableton and Windows are using the exact same settings, sample rates etc.

Thanks for sticking with me Mark. That’s greatly appreciated!
When I had Live connected to the TF console with ASIO | Yamaha Steinberg drivers selected, I feel like I didn’t have the option to change the buffer size. I’ll have to double-check that next time I’m at the church and can connect everything up again. This was where my noob brain went immediately when the audio would cut out for a second or so periodically during playback. I’ll check the settings next chance I get and revert with more info.
Yes, AFAIK, Windows, Live and the TF were all set to 48000 sample rate (as this is the fixed rate in the TF console). If either Windows or Ableton (or both) don’t have their sample rate set to 48000, the console complains by putting a «Sample Rate Mismatch. Rate must be 48000» message on the console screen.

I did read the link, and feel like I’ve provided a reasonable amount of information. Seems to me you are not willing to help…thanks for wasting my time.
Yet you still FAIL to give us any real info to go on.
Here try reading and following the info required. All basic stuff.
— Make sure you’re using the latest version of Live available to you.
— Update your OS to the most current version (if you can).
— Make sure ALL your drivers are up to date for things like your sound card, computer, motherboard, etc.
— Try the default drivers for your soundcard, ASIO4ALL is not a magic solution to all situations. The included drivers are almost always better in fact.
— Provide some details about your computer system, audio interface, what version of Live you are using, what OS, etc.

Live is up to date afaik. v10.1.30
My laptop is up to date, including all drivers.
I have provided the info about the interface, OS, computer system and version of Live.
If I’ve neglected some other vital piece of info why don’t you let me know what you need to know.
It seems none of this had anything to do with my initial routing issues…but I guess it could have.
Any help on the glitching audio in playing back multitrack recordings (as described below), I’d be grateful.

Have you tried adjusting the buffer sizes in Ableton preferences? Another thing worth checking and ensuring both Ableton and Windows are using the exact same settings, sample rates etc.

When I had Live connected to the TF console with ASIO | Yamaha Steinberg drivers selected, I feel like I didn’t have the option to change the buffer size. I’ll have to double-check that next time I’m at the church and can connect everything up again. This was where my noob brain went immediately when the audio would cut out for a second or so periodically during playback. I’ll check the settings next chance I get and revert with more info.
Yes, AFAIK, Windows, Live and the TF were all set to 48000 sample rate (as this is the fixed rate in the TF console). If either Windows or Ableton (or both) don’t have their sample rate set to 48000, the console complains by putting a «Sample Rate Mismatch. Rate must be 48000» message on the console screen.

Кубейс3. Карточка Аудиофил 2496.
проблема вот в чём. В найстройках карточки меня вообще всегда бесило то, что непонятно как переключать sample rate)) Вот сейчас у меня там стоит 48000. В кубе работаю именно с этой частотой. Но вот после закрытия куба, открываю винамп и там песни играются выше чем обычно. Т.е. как если бы в кубе в проекте с 48000 загрузить сэмпл с частотой 44100. После перезагрузки всё в норме снова. Что это за фигня? как исправить? Ну и может заодно кто нибудь скажет почему так криво частота в настройках карты меняется? вот щас пытаюсь на 44100 поставить, а он обратно ставит на 48000. галки напротив Rate Locked не стоит..

Кьюбейс и нуенда подхватывает частоту дискретизации, которая стоит по умолчанию. Бывают такие глюки с картой, что она начинает дуплить после загрузки определённых программ. Попробуй просто выгрузить дрова и загрузить их снова. :thank_you2:

а в аудиофиле частота не лочится? я в мии залочиваю 44 100 и у меня все проги играют в ней. если разлочить — бывает такая же ерунда…

лочится.. но если я 48000 поставлю, то винамп один фиг будет играть не правильно. а если 44100 залочу, то в кубе проект не сделать в 48000.
Stefan2009, выгрузить дрова это как? переустановить чтоли?

а какой смысл, делать проект в 48? и ли ты пишешь в двд формате?

ну сам проект то когда делаешь, насколько мне известно чем больше частота и битность тем лучше.. естессно потом экспортирую в 44100
со своей проблемой разобрался. просто в винампе поставил устройство вывода звука другое и всё!)

У меня глюки с Sample Rate в Кубейс3.
При создании нового проекта куб вдруг меняет частоту и показыкает мол на 44100, хотя она раньше и всегда была такой. И в результате вся мультимедиа проигрывается медленно будто в другой понижанной тональности(в настройках звуковой карты аудиофил 192 тоже 44100 Rate), а в кубе нормально. Возвращается все на свои места после перезагрузки или изменения в кубе на 48000, но мне это не к чему.

Не совсем. Поищи в поиске…
При использовании софтового ресемплинга, при понижении частоты в 44 100, ты получаешь тот же результат, как если бы изначально писал в 44 100 не используя ресемплинг.

Есть способ изменить частоту-переключится в режим S/PDIF in потом переключить частоту и вернуться обратно в режим internal Xtal. делаеться все за несколько секунд.

После того, как конвертером изменил звуки их нужно переименовать, исправить пути и обновить контент-хостинг.

Поставили вы звуки. Они скачались игрокам. Потом только обнаружили то, что со звуками проблемы. Исправили, залили заново. Игрокам то есть должны скачаться новые. НО — сервер, видя звуки с теми же названиями в той же директории у игроков, не скачиваются заново, ибо мол зачем? Это же глупо. Получается, что у игроков, ранее уже скачавших проблемные звуки, эти проблемные звуки и будут, а новые нет. Укажите другие названия у звуков, либо измените директорию для новых.

Согласен, ну только даже после конвертации они не работают, проблема в другом.

Они и не будут работать, если не поменяете название или не измените директорию при заливке на сервер и скачивании!

Та же проблема. Менял конвертором до 22, и wav c 11 пробовал. Переименовывал. Даже серв переустанавливал. В последней попытке сразу указал в конфиге нуть на фтп для докачки. Теперь даже стоковых звуков нет которые с плагинами идут и раньше работали. Что-то вообще не айс получается.

а эта ошибка разве не связанна с частотой .тоесть слишком большие бассы

Решил проблему. В настройках конфига /cfg/server.cfg поменял настройки sv-pure Проверка соответствия файлов сервера и клиента. Вместо 0 поставил 1. Сначала серв поругался на рейты звуков которые я до этого занизил *** Invalid sample rate (32000). Но после замены звуков через те же конверторы до 44000 все заработало. Да, имена звукам даны другие и в /cfg/server.cfg изменен параметр sv_downloadurl Место, из которого клиенты могут загрузить недостающие файлы на адрес сервера из FTP

HDA ATI HDMI at 0xfea64000 irq 39The modules snd_pcm_dmix, snd_pcm_usb and snd_pcm_oss does not seem to exist. I did try to load them with modprobe however only snd_pcm_oss seemed to be successfully loaded, but the error ALSA lib pcm_oss.c:377:(_snd_pcm_oss_open) Unknown field port still show up as seen above.
If I have understood my own problem correctly I’m currently missing a couple of modules that prevents me from running FluidSynth possible because it can’t properly detect my card. I can otherwise play music, watch videos with both speakers and headphones without problems. I’m asking how to find and load these missing modules. Thank you for any help.
