I’ve set up scheduled restarts with BEC, but it says «Schedule with job id=10 has a invalid file defined»

<job id="10">
        <time>050000</time>
		<delay>000000</delay>
        <day>1,2,3,4,5,6,7</day>
        <loop>0</loop>
        <cmd>restart.bat</cmd>
        <cmdtype>1</cmdtype>
    </job>

The .bat file is in the same folder as the CFG and schedule files, what gives? No matter where I put the file, BEC can’t find it

Make sure that BEC config.cfg has proper path defined as well:

[Misc]
Scheduler = Scheduler.xml

and that scheduled tasks are incremental starting from 0 — 10 (or whatever is the last job number)

      NOTICE: Duplicate of another question posted in the wrong section.

      So I’ve been playing this server that has a number of mods installed. I’ve been playing it for quite a while with the only errors I’ve been getting are regarding a 45 round RPK mag being missing, but other than that I’ve had no errors or any issues loading. Upon trying to place a plot pole, nothing happens; absolutely nothing, like no preview shows up, no prompt saying «starting construction» or anything like that, just blankness. When I try to do it again it says «building already in progress» and I can’t do anything, not even lock my vehicle. Is there anything that can be done, or that can explain this phenomenon? To further the understanding of how this came to be, I bought a plot pole from the trader in Trader City Stary and tried placing it near Stary, but not too near it (near a thicket of bushes in the distance). Upon right clicking and hitting the build option, that’s when I face my issue.

      How to report script bugs and problems:

      This small guide will give you an overview what we need to help you resolving bugs.

      Write your problem as exact as possible and please provide more information as only one sentence. If you show no logs we cannot or will not help you. Write a meaningful headline.

      What mods do you have installed and on what map do you play?

      Epoch, Overpoch (Overwatch+Epoch), Overpochins (Overwatch+Origins+Epoch)

      Chernarus, Napf, Namalsk, Taviana, Sauerland, Panthera, Lingor and other

      What scripts do you have installed?

      This is very important because there can be relations betwenn different scripts.

      What Anti Hack do you have installed?

      At the moment there are two common Anti Hacks out there:

      Epoch Admin Tools(free)

      infistar(not free)

      What ist the name of your server host?

      Certain Gameserver Hoster will not work very well with a custom epoch. If you have a dedicated server you should be good.

      Check your launch parameters from your server and your client.

      Do not start the server or the client with -nologs

      Add to your client –showScriptErrors

      You can do that in the DayZ Launcher —> settings —> Check Show Script Errors or you start your game with a batch file.

      Provide Logs from 5.

      This mean show us your server and client logs. Client logs can be found under

      C:UsersYourUsernameAppDataLocalArmA 2 OA

      It is possbile that the folder is hidden in windows. You can make it visible:

      https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028316/windows-view-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-10

      If you have Battleye kicks show the kick logs from your battleye folder.

      If you have problems with lost gear you can add the HiveExt.log as well. The file is in the same folder like the server.rpt

      Do not post the logs directly here, use pastebin.com, google drive or something like that and add the link.

      If you provide all these information there is a good chance we can help fast and efficient.

      Only for the record:

      If you are new to the Arma 2 Epoch Community and new to start servers. Please stay away from the Legacy Resources in the forum and use only the normal Resources. Legacy Resources are outdated. If you have a better knowlegde in scripting you can try to adjust the scripts from Legacy Resources  but for now please stay at the normal Resources forum.

      @JasonTM Install Guide

      If you want to add the most common scripts try @salival modpack.

Okay im sorry i cant provide alot of help with the script but it looks to be okay… kinda iffy i run dayz.st and the auto messages come with the server so i wouldent know to much about it but http://www.gotcha-antihack.com/index.php/download a free anti hack program has a own Scheduled Messages setting in the settings option… Method 2 WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND is getting J0k3r5’s stat panel it is a debug monitor and it says how long till the server restarts the forum for it is found here http://opendayz.net/threads/j0k3r5-stats-panel-very-easy-install-stats-panel.15090/ if you scroll down to the picture on the forum you see it says Restart in 178 minutes! other than that i cant recommend any other things… i hoped this helped

If you run BEC on the server, you can create/edit (should already be in your server files somewhere) a scheduler.xml and program it to send out certain messages when you want. I host on nitrado, and no warnings come out in default. This should help you get started: http://ibattle.org/install-and-configure/setting-up-the-scheduler/

I already have tried several guides similar to this, i have 4 hour restarts setup at 2,6 and 10 and this is my scheduler xml:

<Scheduler>

<job id="0">
<time>030000</time>
<delay>000000</delay>
<day>1,2,3,4,5,6,7</day>
<loop>1</loop>
<cmd>say -1 Server Restart In 1 Hour.</cmd>
<cmdtype>0</cmdtype>
</job>

<job id="1">
<time>033000</time>
<delay>000000</delay>
<day>1,2,3,4,5,6,7</day>
<loop>1</loop>
<cmd>say -1 Server Restart In 30 Minutes .</cmd>
<cmdtype>0</cmdtype>
</job>

<job id="2">
<time>034500</time>
<delay>000000</delay>
<day>1,2,3,4,5,6,7</day>
<loop>1</loop>
<cmd>say -1 Server Restart In 15 Minutes .</cmd>
<cmdtype>0</cmdtype>
</job>

<job id="3">
<time>035500</time>
<delay>000000</delay>
<day>1,2,3,4,5,6,7</day>
<loop>1</loop>
<cmd>say -1 Server Restart In 5 Minutes .</cmd>
<cmdtype>0</cmdtype>
</job>

<job id="4">
<time>035900</time>
<delay>000000</delay>
<day>1,2,3,4,5,6,7</day>
<loop>1</loop>
<cmd>say -1 Server Restart In 1 Minute.</cmd>
<cmdtype>0</cmdtype>
</job>

</Scheduler>

still not working? any ideas?

  • #5

I do remember it being a pain to set up, and honestly don’t remember exactly how i got it to work, it’s been a while. What I can do though is give you my sheduler to look at. It’s set up for restarts every 3 hours, with messages 30, 15, 5, and 1 minute before restart. You may be able to tweak it to work for you -> EDIT: XML format pastebin link

  • #6

All of the job criteria and format look the same, do i need the top two lines identifying encoding etc?

  • #7

Yes, my scheduler had that those lines in before i added everything else. Also, did you enable your scheduler through your config file and made sure it had the right path?

  • #8

also, just a friendly suggestion. Instead of useing the loop funtion for restart messages, I recomend you set a specific time for each message. Lets say your server restarts at 4am, and you have to manualy restart it at 2am for whatever reason.. With the loop function sending the messege every 3 hours, no warning would be shown prior to the 4am restart (having manualy restarted it 2 hours prior to the scheduled restart). Hope i explained myself well enough o_O

  • #9

I think i understand, but that wouldnt happen as my server is up for 4 hours at a time, and the messages 3hours, 3:30, 3:45, 3:55 and 3;59 so my scripts have enough time to show? and ii didnt need to enable my scheduler through config, im using GTX gaming host, similar to hfb
thanks

  • #10

They would always show as long as the server restarts at the scheduled time, just remember that if you have to shut it down for whatever reason at a different time (for example if you are working on your server and restart to test a script, or shut it down in the presence of a hacker on the server), then the messages won’t have time to show.

Anyway, were you able to get it working?

  • #11

No, for some reason the server is reading the messages from my config editor, (which has ‘hackers beware’ etc) even though its suppose to be a simple way to edit the txt file(which when i open it up has only my custom server restart messages and no’hackers beware’ messages etc). They are reading two different things, yet are supposedly the same file?
thanks

  • #12

I’ve never hosted with GTX or HFB, so i don’t know if there’s any difference in how the server reads you files compared to Nitrado or Vilayer. But, as far as I know the messages in your server’s config file are the light blue messages that show as soon as you join the server (example: hosted by X, etc), while the BEC messages (red text) are read from your scheduler.xml file that you are trying to setup. Just to be sure, go to your BEC’s config file, and find the line for your scheduler. Make sure it looks like this:

Scheduler = Scheduler.xml

and not like this:

#Scheduler = Scheduler.xml

and be sure the path to your scheduler is correct. If you can’t get it working let me know. I have the day off tomorrow, and could try to upload your scheduler to my server to see if the code itself works.

[Bec]
Ip = 188.165.193.15

Path looks fine to me, although i cant acutally access the folders, just the Scheduler.xml

  • #14

Actualy i have found the BEC folder with the Scheduler in etc, i also found a restart15minutewarning.xml, which is blank?

  • #15

the scheduler.xml is usualy in the same folder as admins and commands, along with all the other BEC files, so I assume the path is correct. Mmmmm.. strange, I’ve never seen that file in the BEC folder o_O

Try restarting the server, then look in your logs (should be in the BEC folder) and check to see if any errors show reguarding your scheduler.xml

  • #16

bec>logs>config>errors:

02:35:25 : Warning, Unexpected error in verified check. Processing info later.

The only error in either errors folder

  • #17

That warning shouldn’t be anything crucial, so don’t worry. Problem is, no errors come up about your scheduler either.. Stupid question, did you setup a message to show every 1 or 2 minutes just to be able to varify if it works or not?

  • #18

Yes ive tried that, but i still only get the messages configured in the schedulers config editor, hackers beware etc

  • #19

Yes ive tried that, but i still only get the messages configured in the schedulers config editor, hackers beware etc

I’m honeslty stumped. You could try to add your messages in that config editor and see if they show up correctly. Either that, or submit a ticket to your host and see what they tell you. If you can’t get it to work pm me your scheduler and I’ll test it on my server. That way we’ll know if the code itself works or not.

  • #20

Not sure if itl change anything, the scheduler.xml config editor, changes the text in the common server settings config.cfg, and not the actualy scheduler txt for some reason, where it says MOTD:

Dayz An Unexpected Authentication Error Fix

Many players are reporting an Unexpected Authentication Error in DayZ with no fix in sight. Is it a server issue or is it something from the player’s side? Here’s what PC, Xbox and PS players can do to check if the issues are from their end or if it’s something the devs needs to fix.

How to Fix An Unexpected Authentication Error in DayZ?

How to Fix An Unexpected Authentication Error in Dayz

These are the things you can do to potentially fix the DayZ Unexpected Authentication or Unexpected Response Data (0x000400e1) Error on PC, PS, and Xbox.

PC players

  • Check your internet connection. Turn off your router, wait for a few minutes, restart it and try to connect to the game again.
  • Restart Steam and check if the error persists.
  • Check the Dayz server status if the servers are very laggy. Find out via Downdetector.
  • Make sure your game is up to date with the latest version.
  • Verify Game Files Integrity on Steam.
    • Launch the Steam client.
    • Find Dayz in your library.
    • Right-click on it and click on Properties.
    • Click on Local files.
    • Click on Verify integrity of game files.
    • Wait until the verification process is over.
    • Re-launch the game.
  • Check if Steam is down.
  • Head over to the official Twitter of DayZ for the latest updates.

PlayStation and Xbox Users

  • Check the Xbox Live and PSN status by heading to the linked official pages.
  • Check the Dayz server status.
  • Power Cycle your console and check again.
    • Press and hold the power button of your console.
    • Do this for 10-15 seconds until the light goes off.
    • Remove the power plug.
    • Wait for 30 seconds.
    • Put the power plug back in.
    • Restart your console.

If none of the troubleshooting steps work, then the issue is at the developers’ end and they may already be on the way to fixing it. Simply wait until that’s done and you can start playing DayZ with your friends again. Make sure to keep an eye on the Tweets and Replies of @DayZ to see what other players are mentioning to the devs and what their responses are.

dayz connection authentication issues
