Unexpected error running tests. Workload Single init returned error message: Process exited unexpectedly
i used to well test , but now i cant do anytest (reinstalling windows)

Please try uninstalling Futuremark SystemInfo, then reverting to this slightly older version;
it work for me, hope it help
Confirming this — there is currently an issue with the latest SystemInfo module (4.34) and FX- series processors with 970/990 chipsets. Working to resolve it.
You can revert to 4.32 by uninstalling Futuremark SystemInfo from the program list and then installing the older version from the link mentioned above.
OH MY GOD THANKYOU SO MUCH! I have spent 2 days trying to figure out What the hell was going on.
I just got my 2 7970’s and was so excited to finally have something worth benchmarking and overclocking. Only to have 3dmark not work no matter what the hell I tried or looked up. Even reinstalled a clean OS 3 times lmfao.
This fix needs to be made more visable. I wish I would of known thats all I had to do 2 days ago.

Generic crash. Hard to say, could be unstable system, could be some background program breaking things. One known way to get this type of error is if you have Windows 10 November update and MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision (which seems to have a problem with the latest Win10 update).
If you wish to do so, contact Steam support.
However, most likely this is caused by a background overclocking program like EVGA precision or MSI afterburner causing the benchmark to crash. If you disable those, it will most likely fix the issue. Or check their website for an update that is compatible with the November Win10 update.
3DMark itself is fully compatible, but it cannot do much if a background program breaks the DirectX stack.

Would need to know more about your system (what kind of video card, what kind of processor, which driver and also what you have running in the background — preferably a screenshot of task manager showing all running processes)
However, if you wish to request a refund, you would need to contact Steam support if you purchased it from Steam. Our technical support cannot process refund requests.

«view result online» is bit overloaded at the moment. We’re adding additional servers to handle the load and it may be unresponsive from time to time. Just try again in a few minutes.
However, if no browser is opened at all, check that your system actually has a default web browser set. Also if you are using some minor browser, it may be that the browser (or your security software) refuses to open up when asked. We’ve verified the software to work with Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Opera.
Supposedly Avira AV can block 3DMark from opening a browser. Are you using that by any chance?
Full version shows scores in the client. Demo is limited to showing them on the web.

Thanks for clarifying that.
I use Win8 x64 with built in Defender.
The problem with testing this is that I have to run the whole demo again to check if the button works.
Or can I shortcut around that somehow?
Sorry, no shortcut available with the demo. Once you have run it, you can test various changes in your system and keep trying the button without re-running.
Windows Defender shouldn’t interfere. In such case I’d triple-check that Firefox is set as default browser (for example, make a small .html file in desktop with notepad, double click that and see if Firefox opens it — if it does, it is properly set as default browser)
Also give it some time — 3DMark.com servers are getting hammered pretty hard at the moment. It should always show the result eventually but it can take up to several minutes for the site to respond. (this problem should go away by tomorrow as the launch peak passes)
Yes, FF is my default, I know that. 😉
Just for future releases: Maybe give some sort of feedback if such a button does not work, so the user sees that the button itself is actually trying to do something and is not broken (server unavailable, retry in blabla).
all benchmark demos work for me, then on the Fire Strike one the demo freezes, crashes and causes my video driver to crash.
running Windows 7 64bit. maybe its that my video driver is beta version.

Any way to make 3DMark start center of the screen? Quite annoying when its about an inch of to the right every start even if you move it the previous startup.
It should automatically open so that it shows completely on screen, adapting based on your desktop resolution. What resolution are your running?
I do agree that it should save the position and size of the window when closing (yes, you can resize the window!). We have that logged as a defect for the first patch so plan is to make that better.

True. Our bad that the UI gives no indication that it is waiting for the server. In our tests this never happened 🙂
(of course in our tests we didn’t get 4000+ results an hour. )
We’ve made changes to the backend already and added more hardware (Amazon Cloud luckily allows this) so it should be getting better already. We reacted as quickly as we could when the problems cropped up.

The whole window is on the screen yes, I’m just quite OCD about it, I’ll post a picture what I mean.
But if you plan on fixing so the window resizing actually saves then that would be awesome.

Two weeks ago I changed my ram from 4GB Kingston ValueRam DDR3 1333mhz ram to 8GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600mhz , but one stick of ram was faulty so its out on RMA. For eight months my rig was running perfectly with no crashes or errors with the Kingston ValueRam , but ever since I got the XMS3 ram my rig is very unstable. The stick of Corsair ram I still have ran four passes of memtest V4.20 (Which took over four hours) with no errors.
I am after reinstalling windows about six times in the past two weeks because I was thinking there was something wrong with my windows install , but the problem is still ongoing. Whats happening is every single game I play will only run for ten minutes before crashing.
So today I went back to my Kingston Value Ram and the problem is still there. I ran OCCT GPU test for an hour and it ran with no errors. As I type this I have four instances of Prime95 running with two hours with no problems. I will leave that run for another hour. Before somebody jumps in and sys to run prime95 for 24 hours I have to say that running it for that long is redicolous and unneccesary. If it runs for three hours without errors I will run memtest for four passes.
Do you guys have any other suggestions of what tests I can run? I am kind of afraid this might be a PSU problem.

Sounds like faulty memory to me then or the memory controller in the CPU is faulty. When they crash, are there any error messages?

In games the error is just that the game stops responding and 3D Mark 11 gives me this error : Workload Single init returned error message: Process exited unexpectedly , but as I said Ive tested the ram already two weeks ago and it done 4 passes in memtest without any errors. Ive done Prime95 for three hours and it passed so I will run memtest again and see if its the ram.
-
Obvious it is the memory. You changed memory sticks and then there is issues. Common sense…
As for prime95 and any other bake test app out there, there not reliable in anyway shape or form. They do not, I repeat do not reflect real world uses so having it pass 20 passes means absolutely nothing, as evidenced by the fact that your games will crash after 10 mins!
People really need to stop using these bake test programs. They do not mean anything, they should not be used to measure stability because frankly there useless as they do not reflect anything you would be doing on a daily basis. I can’t stress enough how much these programs are B.S…

did you try to raise the voltage on the ram a little ?
tried to put it in other slots ?
in bios dont use xmp profile better so set it yourselflet us know…
-
Sounds like memory is causing issues, although try prime95 for 12 hours. Prime95 doesn’t usually crash systems within a 3 hr timeframe. Do it overnight instead.

If you are having the same issue even with your known good ram I disagree with everyone pointing at that, that is pretty clear evidence that it is not the problem. I would remove and re-seat your video cards. Otherwise it is possible that one of the memory slot’s was damaged or got some debris in it during the change so inspect those with a good flashlight. I would start there, but to just go «it’s the ram» when you clearly stated you also tried known good ram is not helpful.
-
Did you read this?
«So today I went back to my Kingston Value Ram and the problem is still there»
Clearly written in the original post! It is helpful to read the original post before blurting out wrong answers

LOL Some people clearly didnt read my original post fully. Its not obvious that its a ram problem if I am after changing from the the Kingston Value Ram that gave me no problems in eight monts to XMS3 ram which gave me problems and back to my kingstom ValueRam thats run perfectly for eight months and I am still having problems.
Whats with you people jumping to the conclusion without reading my original post first?
Even funnier is the post saying its common sense that its the ram after changing my ram lol. Its also Common Sense to read a post fully and understand what it says before answering.
Also its not a problem with my overclock , because with default bios settings I am having the same problem. I am also not using XMP for the ram and I have it set manually. I also had the XMS3 ram just above 1.65v which didnt help no matter what speed it was running at.
Anyway Ive left memtest run four runs with no errors on the XMS3 ram.
I will inspect the ram slots tomorrow and I will reseat my graphics card.
I also forgot to mention that with this motherboard that if only one or two sticks or ram is used then the computer will only boot up with the ram in the red ram slots. Ive tried booting with the ram in the black slots with no ram in the red ram slots , but the motherboard wont show the P.O.S.T. screen if the ram is in the black slot alone.

Do a clean install of your Video card drivers. Make SURE the card is not overheating. Set EVERYTHING back to defaults.
Also, make sure your Power supply is not dust bunnied. Every fan / heatsink cleaned.

Sounds like you’ve been handling your pc parts without earthing yourself tbh.

could be ur voltage settings are low or if I remember correctly try checking ur QPI/volts and try re-adjusting it because a crash like that is possibly ram related..
I had a similar issue with my i7 , when I bought faster memory and prime ran fine along with memtest..
Problem was that BFBC2 would crash after 20-10mins of gaming , sometimes even after 40mins…But after fixing my QPI volts , it never happened again..
I know my tip is not good but figured I should let u know..Last edited: Jun 26, 2011

It is still a memory problem. I didn’t say it is the new memory. I just said it is memory related. Like I said common sense. If something worked for the last 8 months, then didn’t after a switch, then you isolated the main problem. Even if the old memory dosen’t work after, it is still something to do with the memory regardless.
Common sense goes along way…

cant remember which corsair power supply it was, but some of the 1000w models were actually 2x 500w psus stuck together. so if youve got that model, make sure your CPU and GPU are on separate rails to make sure your computer isnt running out of puff.

Thanks for the tip. I will see if Wlan is enabled and turn it off and see if that helps.Ive done a clean install of my graphics drivers a few times already.
1. Uninstall with YourUninstaller super mode which deletes most of the registry keys
2. Run Driver Sweeper 3.01
3. Run Crap Cleaner
4. Install new driverIve been building conputers long enough to know that not earthing myself while handling the computer components is a bad idea :thumbdown I doubt its a voltage problem. I tested games with default settings and the Kingston Valueram , but I had the same problem , but I will raise the voltage and see if it helps. Thanks for the tip. I am sure I have my GPU on a seperate rail to my CPU. I will check that too.Do tell me what you think my problem is then?

Ok in the past two hours I’ve Checked the ram slots for dirt or damage , Ive changed the PCIe power to a different rail to my CPU , Ive set the ram in different ram slots , I’ve disabled all services I dont use , I’ve raised all voltages a notch , I’ve checked for dust in the PSU and all other parts of the rig and Ive set the QPI to the lowest QPI speed available. Nothing helped.
@alco : Ive ut the ram in the black slots alone , but the motherboard wont show a POST screen if I do that. It just sits there with all fans at 100% and will do that until I do a hard shut down.

in some ocasions reseating the cpu can help
just give it a shotyour temps are good ?
try it with 1 memory stick (maybe even underclock your memory to see if it helps )you have a spare psu to rule that problem out also maybe ?
maybe a bios update or even an older bios to try

This PSU was pretty good for its time (5 years ago), but since then I have added a lot to my system and I’m suspecting that my crashing is related to lack of power. Everything was fine until I started overclocking, but maybe my overclock is just unstable? Here is what I am pushing through this PSU:
4.7ghz 3570k
1.302 vcore
2 gtx970’s SLI — total clock is something like 1545 at load (precision x slider is at +255mhz)
h60
2 delta 120mmx25mm fans
3 120mm case fans
2 200mm fans
2 sticks of ddr3 ram
simple 7.1 sound card
2 ssd’s
1TB standard drive
My CPU overclock passed 6 hours of realbench with good temps. I then got the GPU stable and passing a full run of heaven. The only thing I was seeing was I kept getting a lot of «aw snap» chrome crash messages, but everything else was fine. Its when I tried to do a final run of 3dmark firestrike that I realized something was wrong. I can not get through 3dmark firestrike without a crash. It gives me this error: «Unexpected error running tests.Workload Single init returned error message: Process exited unexpectedly».
Also, I noticed in heaven, as I was increasing the clocks looking for artifacts, I never saw any artifacts and the temps weren’t that high. I had to stop turning the clocks up, not because of artifacts, but because of BSOD or the display drivers continually crashing. It seems PSU related, but I don’t have enough experience to know.
If this website: http://powersupplycalculator.net/ is accurate, it says my system draws 553w and it recommends I get a minimum of a 683 PSU, which obviously I am under. Im ready to pull the trigger on an evga g2 850, someone just say the word and I’ll order it lol
No seriously though, is this TX650 enough PSU for these cards overclocked?

Hello
I would say drop the gpu’s to stock clock to avoid any problem, the 970 at stock pull around 170w, after OC to 1545mhz will pull 200w super easily if not more..
So 200w*2 =400w for the gpu’s + 150w for the 3570k @4.7ghz the total 550W and you need at least another 150w for the board+HDD’s+Fans..
A new psu highely recomended an 750W Gold or 850W Bronze is more than enough + make sure single 12V rails not multiple 12V rails

I’d say drop the cpu oc to say 4.4-4.5 and keep a mild oc on the gpus. But you’re kinda cutting it close.

3d mark won’t pass even at stock clocks and SLI disabled. The only thing I was going to try next was yanking a card totally out. Screw it I’m just going to order the 850 lol

I’d rather buy more power supply then turning anything down. Going to pick up that 850.

Definitely get the g2, it’s a solid PSU and you don’t want to be starving those 970s…

I bought a digital load meter that the PC plugs into so I can see how many watts my system is pulling from the wall. The max I saw was 500w during the 3dmark demo. I never saw more than that. I am kind of regretting the 850 purchase as it seems like overkill. They say you should never use more than 80% of your PSU, which would be 520 if I used my 650 power supply. I never even hit that number. So I don’t know.

I’ve done some tests already, and found some results but could use some help interpreting them:
My specs — nothing overclocked unless specified:
-
■ Win 8.1 Update 1 Pro
■ AMD FX-8350 8-Core processor @ 4.0Ghz
■ 4x 2GB Corsair XMS3 1333Mhz DDR3 ram
■ Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard
■ Gigabyte 2GB Nivida Geforce GTX 660Ti Graphics (factory OC’ed)
■ 5 Hard disks of varying ages and vendors (320GB, 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, 3TB)
■ Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCIe
■ Corsair TX 650W PSU
Tests performed and errors received:
-
■ Chkdsk with /offlinescanandfix flag on all drives. all bar 1TB drive came back clean. The 1TB drive had some filesystem errors which were fixed, no bad clusters.
■ Windows memory Diagnostic — standard test — No errors.
■ Prime95 Torture Test — Preset ‘Blend’ Test — This gets nowhere and a reset occurs almost immediately.
■ Memtest86+ bootable CD — got to test 8 on the first pass and seemed to get stuck, wouldn’t respond to any keypresses.
■ One instance of a BSOD when using chrome (2 tabs — Facebook and Kitguru) — error code IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
■ 3DMark Demo on steam — Sky Diver — «An Unknown Error occurred: Unexpected error running tests. Workload Single init returned error message: Process exited unexpectedly»
■ 3DMark Demo on steam — Sky Diver attempt 2 — Caused reset immediately.
■ memtest86+ attempt 2 — not finished yet but it’s 80% through and it’s found 51 errors
I’ve asked for my multimeter to be sent to me so i can check my PSU.
I think my RAM is the culprit, could anyone else pose some potential causes?

Let us know when the meter arrives, RAM or PSU is very likely. but RAM generally gets a BSOD

I was adding more by replacing two modules and immeadiately got tons of BSODs, removed them and went back to my old modules and everything was fine
When I RMAed them the company did some tests and found them faulty as well.

I’ve just been testing individual slots and pairs of RAM by basically putting each pair in each pair of slots on the motherboard one pair at a time. I was hoping this would reveal a culprit memory pair or motherboard slot. In each instance i ran prime95 to see if it would reboot, it did not.
I’ve not put all four modules back in, and ran prime95. It’s running fine. It sounds like one of the memory modules wasn’t seated correctly, although why that would become apparent now i have no idea.
I’m about to try 3dMark as btoh that and prime 95 were dead certs to force a reset.
I’ll still test the PSU when the multimeter arrives on monday.

another thing to consider is the memory controller on the AMD FX chips are sub par compared to intels memory controllers. Running 4 sticks usually means having to run them at a lower Mhz because it adds too much stress to the memory controller. So 2 sticks at a higher Mhz and CAS with less stress on the memory controller might be a better thing. i can only imagine needing to use all 4 slots if using 32 Gb RAM for super high end 3D renders or something of the like.
Then again theres the ‘upgrade’ solution where you HAVE to use all 4 slots just to have 8 GB which is the boat youre in. Youre options are either upgrade to a 2 x 4GB kit for 60-70$ OR try setting the the RAM in the BIOS manually to have;
A. Looser timings, leave them at auto.
B. Higher the Dram voltage manually to 1.495V or possibly 1.5v (but not higher) to ensure stability

try this line before app initialize:
app.commandLine.appendSwitch('enable-webgl');
I tried all appendSwitch
lines, none worked!
I hate this but for people who want their app to work again, I just downgraded to electron v12 and everything worked.
I have the same issue with Electron 15.2.0 (and 15.3.0) on Windows 10 Pro.
About 30% of the time my BrowserView doesn’t paint and a minute or so later I get the Passthrough is not supported, GL is disabled, ANGLE is
error.
I’ve tried the disable-gpu-sandbox
appendSwitch in addition to disabling all sandboxing, but I still get the error.
I see the exact GPU process exited unexpectedly: exit_code=-1073741819
log, but without any unicode characters in the path.
I see the issue on latest 15 and 16 too
Please attach a crash dump. You can collect them by adding the following snippet to your main process code, before app.whenReady:
const { app, crashReporter } = require('electron') console.log(app.getPath('crashDumps')) crashReporter.start({ submitURL: '', uploadToServer: false })
Then reproduce the crash, zip up the crash dumps directory and attach it here.

FWIW, on GitHub Desktop, we ran in to this when upgrading to 16.0.8 and the unicode issue appears to resolve in 16.0.9. But, still experiencing problems for some windows users, maybe the issue reported in #32440
It seems that the bug is now resolved with the release of v18.0.0.
The latest affected version seems to be v17.4.0.
Thank you for fixing it.
@tnixeu I update to electron@18.2.0,It still appears.
